School bus attendance

Not riding the bus does not necessarily mean getting into another vehicle. Depending on the district, children may walk but then choose the bus when they are tired or the weather is poor. For example, FCPS students are bus-eligible even if they live relatively close to school.

I think she means as part of the "school profile" that colleges see.

Who is supposed to be assessing these kids, in your mind? Who verifies that Johnny actually rides his bike to and from school every once in a while, because he has chorus before the bus could get him to school, or he stays after school 2 days a week for Ultimate Frisbee practice? Or that Sarah is riding in a carpool with her golf team to a match immediately after school today, and that’s why she’s not on the bus? And how about those kids who are close enough to school that they aren’t eligible for bus service? Who is supposed to keep track of all of the complex ins and outs for the thousand plus kids per school, every day?

The transportation scheme for middle school and older kids isn’t as simple as riding a bus twice every school day.

I am baffled.

I don’t even know WTH OP is talking about.

Bus ridership has never been mandatory for any school I’ve known.

We have a bus, but the school is walking/bike distance. Depends on how they want to get to and from each day.

I don't mean to brag, but my child is a gifted and talented bus rider.

Oh, come on you guys, OP is clearly a non-native speaker who's obsessed with getting her progeny into Harvard. She thinks not taking the bus with the hoi polloi is being looked down upon by liberal SJWs in the Ivies. And, of course, it has to be a person standing at every bus stop taking attendance!
