How do you pay your teenage babysitter?

If your kid complained to me about getting cash vs. check I would go to the bank, unroll however many rolls of pennies and give them to her in a bag. Teach your little brat to be grateful.

Well then you’re a bitch. Your kids are probably complete terrors that nobody would want to babysit more than once anyway.

75% Venmo
20% check
5% cash

OP the ones I'm paying by check or cash are the younger ones (age 14).

We pay our teen babysitters with Venmo or a check unless they specifically ask for cash (they don't).

I pay cash. But I’m a bit old school and use cash more than most people.

THen the brat should take a check and shut her trap.

WTF is wrong with you?

You pay a babysitter in cash. She either gets cash or your daughter doesn't baby sit for her any more

I pay in checks if it’s a recurring job. If your babysitter only accepts cash, make it clear when the job is accepted, not the night of. As a nursing mother, I have a two-hour window for a date. I don’t want to waste time finding an atm.

I would pay in cash, but I also hate using checks and having uncashed checks pending against my account.

I never have cash. I usually PayPal or Venmo. One of the teens who occasionally sits for me doesn’t have her own account so I PayPal her mom.

1. PayPal
2. Venmo
3. Check
4. Cash (very infrequently)

I usually ask if Venmo is ok and they usually like that. If not, check.

I think your DD is being a little picky. Why can't your DD immediately go to a bank and cash it (or do mobile check cashing), rather than expecting the parent to go an ATM and get cash? I rarely get cash, and it would be a pain to make sure I have the right amount to pay the babysitter -- some ATMs only spit out 50s and 20s so out of luck if the amount is somewhere in between. This is like my hair salon which prefers tips in cash and so it's a hassle every time to make sure I have the right amount of small bills.

You can cash a check at grocery store and I'm sure that you eat! Stop using "nursing" mother as an excuse for being lazy.

Checks bounce and cash doesn't.
