Who are the top 06 girls teams in the area?

VYS 2006 is good compared to the other Vienna teams but they would not be competitive against teams like FCV, BRYC or VDA. They might be able to beat McLean though.

Being 06s, it's also a question of how much time you want your U14 player to spend in the car weeknights going to practices.

Yikes! You must not watch much soccer if you are trying to compare SYC and Alexandria to any of the ecnl/da teams and that would include awful Metro.

Who would win between Metro and McLean?

SYC won in the lowest bracket, no competition there. Neither of these teams could compete against any of the above teams.

+1. There are plenty of options for people at SYC and Alexandria to play at high level clubs without your U14 player spending a lot of time in the car. Once the kids go to 11 v 11, the teams very quickly separate in to a top tier, an average tier, and house/rec tier. SYC and Alexandria are average, they may have 1 or 2 more talented players, but I wouldn’t consider the team talented.

+1 saying they are up there couldn't be farther from the truth. There is a reason SYC and Alexandria have never played any of those teams, it would be embarassing.
Everyone needs to get a grip-an individual coach does not make or break a player. And, some teams have good chemistry and some don't. The McLean squad needs to improve and it would be great to see them do so at the 06 level in particular. 05 and 07 seem to be in decent shape.
I disagree. There are a lot of bad coaches out there who care more about winning than player or team development. They climb over players treating them poorly to get their wins knowing someone else will come along wanting a coveted spot. All that was listed before as poor treatment to players by bad coaches is true and some clubs reward it. The coaches should look to the Nationals and all they represent for learning how to coach well setting a proper tone for players and teaching these kids how to be teammates. H.A.B.I.T

The VYS team that has been beaten by GFR and VSA NPL teams?

Thanks for the laugh, VYS parent.

This is a comically bad take. Both these teams are average at best. The SYC team is a notch below that to be frank. People need to stop getting excited about winning anything after u12 if it's not DA or ECNL. Even at those levels, claiming any sort of superiority is pointless as you don't face the other league. But the point remains, state cup, ccl, ncsl, odsl, wags, jeff cup, or any other competition not featuring the top 2 leagues in the area, even if you win, mean nothing.

+1. That statement confirms how many delusional soccer parents there are in this area.

Agreed. The gap between the ecnl/da teams and the others is shocking when you first see it.

Completely false. I’ve seen coaches kill kids confidence, play favorites, etc. All impacted players.

I was told that MYS didn't renew his contract and he lost his job once before.
