Hmm. We have the reverse in our neighborhood. Apparently we aren’t supposed to disapprove of pumpkin smashers.

We were advised not to participate in Halloween at all, it invites in the Devil

(yes, this was a NextDoor thread in my neighborhood this week)

Haven't seen that one, but have been informed about not using the webbing stuff (kills the birds), only buying orangutan friendly candy, providing adequate allergy free candy options, and more. Halloween is becoming very stressful with all the dos and donts. Then the day after Halloween there will be posts about how to get rid of all the candy because even if it is orangutan friendly the children can't possibly have more than 2 pieces of Halloween candy.

Wth is orangutan friendly candy?

I do too. I also find NextDoor enormous useful, because I prefer not to limit my flow of communication and information to my immediate neighbors.

"Dum Dums, Smarties, and Jolly Ranchers maybe suitable for Ontario, Fontana, and even Montclair... but NOT here in Rancho Cucamonga!"

Best ever.

I’m dying to know what neighborhood this is. And, can’t you report political stuff that’s not relevant?

Palm oil production destroys orangutan habitat. This link has information including lists of candy that doesn’t use palm oil or used oil that is sustainably grown.

Mine was full of snakes pictures last month. Everyone was desperate to identify some snake they found and everyone was sure they were deadly poisonous or not.

Or post on Facebook and call it a mountain lion. Your call.

And then get a lecture berating you for taking the collar off, or not chipping your dog.

I think that’s a suspected bobcat in Arlington. The mountain lion was Georgetown.

We live in the SOuth and Nextdoor is awesome for finding out which of your neighbors are racist. Posts include things like "I saw a black man walking through our neighborhood the other night. Surely he doesn't live here . . .. "

In case they're too lazy to fly a Confederate Flag, we have Nextdoor so we can still identify them.
