I don't get the complaints. They make sense based on club performance, and iter 2 still plays tier 1 if it's within their conference. But it makes for more evenly matched games for everyone. When VDA starts blowing out all the competition it faces (or Arlington, whichever), then that's worth talking about. |
Except Crossfire was placed in tier 2 after finishing in the first place ahead of four MLS academies in their division on the boys side. |
One age group was performing well, but not as a club across the board. And yet they aren't across the board blowing anyone out either. Either tier though can make the play offs, and they will still have conference games against tier 1. Besides, you're talking a single club. |
The complaints are related to travel. Richmond and VDA will go to a Florida 4 times this year. |
I guess, but when you sign on for national league teams, you sign on for travel. |
The division has always been in the mid atlantic. The da informed clubs on July 31 that they’d be traveling to Florida for league games. That was not expected. |
| Is this just boys DA? Or will the girls be doing this too? I have a 2008 DD that would be DA next year and I think Florida may be crazy. |
You are exaggerating. People, go on www.ussoccerda.com and see the schedules for yourselves to make an informed decision. |
No, like FCV played a Cincinnati team as part of their cup games, but the games were held in NC as a midway point. I should add that in the ECNl we went all the way to Ohio every year for the same games so the compromise was nice. |
I’m not exaggerating. My DS plays in one of the clubs impacted. |
2 trips to Florida for league games and one to Georgia. Also a trip to Florida for the showcase. One of the trips to Florida is for a SINGLE GAME. |
Just because you don’t like the information doesn’t mean it’s an exaggeration. |
I like the tier system. It makes sense. It's creating more level matches. The only whiners I hear are on this forum. Everyone I meet is happy with it. So like other things on this forum, you may be an outlier. I have no reason to think otherwise. If a club wants to change tiers, improve performance. |
Seems like a lot of travel on the boys side to satisfy mls teams who regularly lose to club teams. |
People actually do this? |
