Check how many who have what? |
Then why isn't Northern VA's gun crime rate as high as DC's? If guns are the problem - as you said - then Northern VA should be far more violent than it is, given the huge numbers of guns there. But it's not. So clearly, more guns =/= more violent crime. So what does? What's the difference between the place with far fewer guns and very high violent crime, and the other place with guns everywhere but comparatively little violent crime? Please answer the question and stop dodging it. |
| Feels like we're seeing an increase in the availability of guns. There's no rhyme or reason to explain the uptick in shootings. |
Guns were far more available, cheaper, and easier to get back in the 80's-90's before federal NICS, and state law in places like MD allowing multiple handgun purchases, without a HQL, instead on one per month like now, with and HQL required for handgun purchase. It's a lot harder to buy a gun now than back then. Assuming you're not a criminal and you're buying it legally. If you're a criminal, then it doesn't matter. You just buy a stolen gun off the street illegally, because that's what you do. You don't worry about laws because you're already doing illegal sh!t, so what's one more crime, as far as you're concerned? |

It's Charles Allen/Social Justice and the joke juvenile system we have period
Juveniles are committing crimes and sometimes even violent crimes and either aren't being prosecuted or are getting a relatively minor slap on the wrist and then 5-10 years later move on to violent crimes/murder and people act all surprised. |
| Do yall know about the 'lead payouts'? I teach incarcerated kids from Bmore and DC... they all get a ton of $$ |
Police are a LOT less proactive and far more "hands-off" now in the last 5-6 years due to the rise of the BLM movement. Cops know they are potentially at risk now simply for doing their jobs, so now they're a lot less inclined to be proactive in their policing. That means that they don't go out of the way to look for troublemakers. They just sit back until called, instead of actively looking for bad guys preemptively. And the bad guys have picked up on this, and are making use of their newfound freedom. That's why you're seeing an uptick in crime. |
