How many schools is your DC limited to (by their school)

But 18 would be crazy. Especially 20+ years ago.

Our school charges $5 per transcript for all of them - no free ones. But they do pay for our AP exams, so I can't complain.

Public schools are not allowed to limit transcripts request or who applies where. I do believe OP.

They might charge you more after the first few, but they can't limit.

I agree with this. I can't imagine how a school could limit the number of applications a student makes to a college or university. That said at our childrens' privates they have strongly encouraged a limit. 3 of our kids were well under the suggested limit. 1 kid blew through the limit like it was a suggestion to eat only 1 Lay's potato chip. Not happening. Whatever works.

I went to a fancy prep school in the 80s. We were limited to 6 schools, including 2 ivies. I imagine if somebody or somebody's family made a huge stink, they couldn't keep them from applying to more.

Yeah prob not worth complaining, but FCPS gives 5 free transcripts ( the $5 after) plus covers 6 APS
