Yes, because it’s adults behaving like adults. I don’t think we do our tweens and teens any favors by pretending sex doesn’t happen between consenting adults. I’d rather my kids watch this than some of the CW type shows that glamorize teen sex. |
| Remember how Rachel is a little slut? |
That’s not the type of adults behaving like adults I want to support portraying: cheating, multiple partners, sex jokes, talking about women’s bodies, etc. there’s a difference between being open with your kid about sex and some of the things on that show. I liked friends but wouldn’t want my 12 year old watching it. |
| It's not a show that I have ever been interested in, so I am not sure how old they were when they first watched it. My kids and I WERE watching many different shows on Discovery ID together by the time they were around age 10, but we're also a Law Enforcement family, so life is already a little more real for LEO kids at a very young age. Most of mine are adults now and they have turned out well. We are quite pleased with the results. |
| The Big Bang theory is for older teens and adults! I can’t believe someone would let a 9 yr old watch that. |
There are lots of other shows a 12 yr old can watch that doesn’t involve sex at all. Teen or adult... |
I remember being 7 and watching Three's Company and Golden Girls. I had no idea what the sex jokes were about. I just thought the people were funny in general. That's probably what your kid is thinking too. |
| You guys are acting like Friends is on the same level as SATC. It used to air on NBC during prime time. Chill out. |
