Yeah, but what if a Dad really had to take a dump? Where would he go? |
Hopefully Dad has enough class/self-respect/control of his body to not feel the need to take a dump in a child's bathroom while picking up a kid from daycare |
Yes. The key factor that makes it right or wrong is whether or not there are adults of the opposite sex in the restroom, while either one or both are using the restroom, anyway. |
Wait, what? |
There is a reason why we allow small children to use the restroom of the opposite sex and not adults, right? Isn't it so opposite sex adults won't be in each other's presence? |
No, I think it’s because children of the opposite sex often need to accompany their parent into the restroom. |
Yes, they do but the parent doesn't take the child to the restroom of the child's sex, is what I'm getting at. The child being in the wrong restroom is much more socially acceptable. |
I think this is fine.
One daycare we used had an open bathroom that divided the 2s room from the preschool age room, you could enter it from either side. It was not uncommon to be there in the morning or at pick up helping your kid get hands washed or using the toilet while the other 4 tiny toilets were being used by other kids with their parents also attending to them. All clothes changes and diapering supplies for any 2s still in diapers were also kept in there, so parents had to be in there refilling those supplies regularly. |
No, I think we also are fearful of perverts (usually men) being around our kids. I don't have daughters, but I'm not sure I'd want a man in there while my daughter is going to the bathroom. I think there should be an adult bathroom in any place where there are adults. |
Opposite sex adults do not use opposite sex kid's bathrooms. Kids gender is irrelevant at 2 years old. Girls bathroom with 2 year old boy. |
