I’m not trying to be obtuse. My husband is specifically saying that what he is doing is different from those things and that’s why it’s a healthier way of consuming pot. So posting something about the dangers of vaping those forms of pot isn’t going to be a good argument against it for him.

Respectfully OP, if you're splitting hairs over a VA Dept of Health warning in an effort to bolster your anti-vaping-around-a-newborn position, I can't help you. Look, I appreciate your position. You've got a new baby and a husband who's engaged in this behavior for 10 years. You want your family to work. I get it. Logic is unlikely to help in this situation; your husband is addicted. Again, I'm not anti-weed. But I do not see frequent positive long-term outcomes from daily marijuana use. I just don't, no matter if it's from a vape pen or a bong. This may be your hill to die on. Not from a logic or science based perspective, but from the perspective of what you need for your family. You guys are three now. Time for some changes.

PTSD. He’s on antidepressants too. He tried just the antidepressants for a while, dosing with Klonapin when needed, but we both got afraid of him taking Klonapin too often.

Is he using a pax or something similar where he is using flower instead of cartridges? Still stupid around the baby but it is different than traditional vaping. I have no idea if it is better or worse but does not contain the oils or alcohols.

Between PTSD and drug use around his infant, I'd seriously question his ability to be a parent and consider divorce.

So he couldn't cope with life with just being married but childless (which is a GREAT life for a man, btw) as it was, without getting stoned every day, and you decided to bring an innocent child into the mix.... why exactly?

MD here to correct this fallacy. Juul pods are 5% nicotine, which is about 40mg of nicotine per pod. A single Juul pod is equal to 20 cigarettes worth of nicotine. Vaping with marijuana has been associated with an acute lung injury syndrome that is yet to be identified; we just received a notice from the VA dept of health re: management and treatment.

None of this stuff is FDA-approved, folks. And I'm not saying the FDA is perfect. But we have kids (like OP's husband, apparently), eating this stuff up with a spoon and it's beyond toxic. Juul will be equivalent to Phillip Morris in 10 years.

OP you have an issue on your hands. I'm sorry; this is where your parental instincts need to kick in. The risk to your husband is greater than that to your newborn, which isn't low risk either. I hope it works out.

Yeah, that warning is for people who use concentrates, oils, or wax. Dry herb isn’t listed there.

Don't be obtuse; it's what we know, PP. I've personally seen 3 cases where the patient reported "dry-vaping" and had similar symptoms. Regardless, it's not appropriate behavior around a newborn, nor is it a long-term solution for an adult. CBD products? Maybe. I'm not anti-weed. Vaping around the house? No way.

"healthier" does NOT mean "healthy".

There are ZERO ways for a parent to consume pot around a child without it being both emotionally and physically unhealthy.
