Do you know your kid(s) cell phone number?

Anonymous
Yes, for those exact reasons. I only memorize my immediate family members phone numbers.

Yep.

I also have my husbands cell, moms cell, moms work number, stepdads cell, parents house, best friend cell, paternal grandparents house and cell numbers memorized.

Its good practice for memory- short and long-term. Same with spatial processing by not relying on GPS.

I’m so confused, how do you not know your own kids phone number?!

I know right?! This whole thread is so surprising to me. How can people not know their own spouse's number?? I assume most people with kids old enough to have their own phones are older than I am, and grew up in a time where you had to memorize phone numbers of friends and family if you didn't want to look them up in a phonebook all the time. In addition to my husband's number I know numbers of my parents and in-laws (home and cell), my sister, the pediatrician, a specialist my son sees regularly, and probably a few others if push came to shove. I think I am able to memorize info more easily than the average person, but I can't imagine not even knowing the numbers of my immediate family.

OP here. Interesting that there are such a variety of replies. I like the idea of the laminated card in the wallet--that was what we did in the old days.

So, the next question is, does your spouse know your kid(s) cell number? I don't even have to ask my spouse this. There is no way he knows. Wait. I'll go ask him.
....
He almost got our older kid's number right, and had three correct numbers in a row for our younger kid's number. He seems to think he's got both numbers memorized now.

So, how about it, PPs with spouses and (cell-phone-age) kids? Does your spouse know your kid(s) cell number(s)?

Yes! Learned the hard way during a car accident that ruined my phone. I now make sure I know a handful of numbers off the top of my head.
