Some rules are stupid. Some rules don't work. See that Texas high schooler who just spent 3 weeks in a detention center and almost got deported even though he was born in the US. I value critical thinking skills over blindly following.

YOu forget to mention that the young man in question also had an identity card that listed him as being born in Mexico. This wasn't just a brown kid snatched off the street. Two conflicting documents, thousands of people applying for asylum. Its gonna take some time to sort out. Bad example.
