Marie Reed Racism Troll

Doesn't undermine my experience on this forum or my experience living in DC for many years. On another note, as the administrator I would expect a more neutral response, one that embraces all perspectives and opinions.

So you lie and troll, but expect respect and neutrality in return? You are mental.

"Virtual blackface" and "modern day minstrel show"

Wow.

I am truly just offering my opinion and experience on what's being posted and the site. I've been reading for years, mist of which was when I lived in DC. Also, my kids never attended a DC public school.

Troll X is the poster who has been inventing stories about her children being victims of racial prejudice to the tune of four major incident in the course of a week. It would be very surprising to find out that you are that troll. Though maybe less surprising given the obvious sympathy you have for the troll.

Yes, when a non-black person acts black and puts on a show, that's what it is.

Stay strong Jeff. I'm glad you don't just give up when racists troll the website; I find it depressing and I'm not you.

All from the administrator of this site.

That is sad and offensive. How can you be charged with effectively managing this site with such feelings.

Also, you have no idea what my race is, nor does it matter.

Sad.

Yes, stay strong Jeff. You are totally doing the right thing.

It's his site. You are welcome to go elsewhere.

The person you are supporting is a troll. You are supporting that troll. If you dislike the way you are received here, you know where the door is.

Either you are misreading, or I am. The troll in question has been posting from and IP address that I normally associate with northern Virginia. You are posting from Texas. Yet you appear convinced that I am accusing you of being the troll -- something I haven't done. Are you actually claiming to be the troll? If not, you should probably read more carefully and dial back your outrage.

Not outraged at all. In fact if you reread, I completely get a sense that you are outraged. Like I mentioned, I was in DC up until very recently and have been a long time reader. I am NOT a troll--and not trying to be divisive or spark a hate debate at all. I generally enjoy the different perspectives on this forum. But in what world is it ok to regularly demean, dismiss, and discount a specific specific race, and quite regularly.

An earlier posted mentioned its "disgusting" and I agree. I'm simply pointing out my views and others have so freely voiced their opinions.

I've seen a turn for the worse with lots of racially insensitive and hateful posts. I'm just suggesting that as the site administrator and responsible, productive and mostly educated adults, we look critically at some of the things we post and believe in our everyday walks.

You are clearly confused. Jeff is outraged because Troll X, posting from Northern Virginia about experiences she and her child were currently having as residents of Adams Morgan, repeatedly sockpuppeted a thread about racism in Adams Morgan. That is against the rules of the community. Sockpuppeting is not "different perspectives." It is pretending to have different perspectives and be different people when you do not and are not. The person and dialogue you are allegedly supporting is doing that, and Jeff is calling it out. The person you are defending is not engaging in a dialogue but is trying to spark a hate debate. If you do not support that, you should probably stop posting criticizing Jeff for shutting it down.

Do you understand that this thread is about a specific poster who has been posting very inflammatory stories about racial incidents allegedly involving her children, but who is very clearly not being honest, is equally clearly sock puppeting, and is probably not black in the first place? I suggest that if "we look critically at some of the things we post and believe", you would agree that this poster is a troll attempting to stir up racial animosity, not someone merely offering a different perspective.

Defending sock puppets under the guise of supporting different perspective = trolling. Try harder, Texas troll.

Why don’t you just lock this thread, Jeff?
