Abuse of my 16 yr old GD by her parent

I’m so glad, OP. Thank you for persevering and helping your granddaughter. I must admit I’m very disheartened at how poorly the police handled this. They should be working on tandem with CPS.

If the mom prevents the 911 call that is a crime. I would expect the officer was supposed to refer to CPS as well. Also CPS does not treat family/relative/friend reports as seriously as they do reports from someone involved with the child in a professional capacity.

Another approach would take her to the hospital/doctor's office to get the wounds treated...this would trigger a report, officially document it, open up a file, etc.
