| DH and I wanted a boy during the whole pregnancy. We didn’t find out the sex. We wound up with a girl and I just can’t possibly imagine not having her and having a boy. It makes the whole gender preference thing seem so silly. I can’t believe I ever wanted a boy because now we have her and she is all I want. |
Moreso the boys |
Being a PITA is not gender-based. I’ve known lots of males AND females who are PITA. Maybe your family didn’t raise their boys properly, and that’s on all of you. |
| Girls have less behavioral problems and less risk for autism, adhd. |
WTF is all this anti-boy BS? The issues you’ve mentioned aren’t anyone’s fault. It’s harder to diagnose girls in many cases of kids on the spectrum which doesn’t equal lower risk. Studies have shown that boys and girls learn differently. However, since the education system focuses on how girls learn because it’s easier and most teachers are female, boys are perceived as ‘problems’ when they act out. Are we supposed to prescreen for boys and abort? What is your point other than to make it clear to everyone that you’re an idiot? |
How do you figure? I have two boys and we love life. My friends with girls however? Their daughters “only” want to wear Elsa dresses and are generally way more demanding/fussy/particular. |
| I wanted a boy first and thankfully got 2, then a girl. I know a lot of two girl families where the dad is pushing to try for a 3rd in hopes that the 3rd will be a boy. White culture is one of the only that prefer girls. Other cultures still prize a boy first. |
Better hope your daughters aren't lesbians |
It’s not universal but it’s generally true. Ask school principals what % of troublemakers are boys vs girls. At our school it’s 80% boys. |

I have a boy and it's so wonderful. I cannot imagine wanting him to be any different than who he is.
I do think that women probably prefer to have girls because women (for the most part) grew up as girls and it's hard to imagine our kids growing up with a radically different perspective on life. But I also think that 99.9% of the time, we fall in love with whatever human comes out of our body. |
Yeah we were worried about the autism. |
| I wanted a boy first and now I want a girl for number 2. My best friend wanted a boy and she has a girl. I always had a feeling I would have a boy first. |
Then there’s something wrong with your school. Are they actually troublemakers, or being called that because they are just being normal children? |
And many of them will be in for a rude awakening. |
You sound mentally healthy. |
