Why do people seem to want girls more than boys?

Girls want girls, boys want boys. We want to have the kid experience the things we remember - so we want same sex. That's all it is.

It's not just shopping. Girls are more likely to hangout with their mothers as they get older.

I wanted girls but I got 2 boys and they are so awesome. I can’t even imagine having girls now.

Originally both I & dh want boy if an only child. Our son is so handful , has a lot of energy to burn day & night , exhaust us all out. We decide to have 2nd one, and we want girl for many reasons. 1) raising our son is too tough, does not want another boy 2) seeing our friends posting pictures of girls in cute clothing, looking forward to raising a daughter experience 3) I personally want a mother-daughter closer relationship. Lucky, we get a girl and so far so good since she is an easy baby, and she sleeps train herself ( probably partly because all my energy are already given to my son, no time/energy for her).

Only in liberal areas like DC. In the rest of the country/world, EVERYONE wants a boy. I’ve been to gender reveals in the Midwest where no one even tried to hide the disappointment when it was a girl. Everyone dreams of having the son/grandson that’ll be HS quarterback leading his school to the state championship.

Just preferences. I want boys, but got a boy and a girl thus far and was admittedly disappointed because I was so sure #2 would be a boy also. Didn't even care to shop for girl clothes or whatever else people swore I'd be so excited to do. Currently 36 weeks and coming around, but I guess I was an outlier because I definitely didn't prefer a girl at all.
