There is a number of ECNL and DA teams that are playing in EDP. EDP is a solid league that is growing. In contrast, CCL model is failing and strongest CCL clubs took their top teams elsewhere (DA, ECNL and even EDP). Keep telling yourself that CCL is better.

There are no DA or ECNL teams in EDP. Those teams play in ECNL and DA leagues hence the name.

You are wrong. Here's a bunch of DA teams playing in EDP as you can see from EDP schedule:

https://www.edpsoccer.com/page/show/4538971-2019-us-youth-soccer-national-league-edp-conferences-schedule

Also, several ECNL teams are playing in EDP this spring, including McLean, and they are playing against non-ECNL EDP teams.

Yes, these teams do play in EDP, but it's the U16 age group (where this year on the girls side there was no DA option) -- EDP is where the players who did not get DA offers (from Arlington, FCV, WS, etc.) for U15 or U17 got games, while they waited in hopes of what happened... that for 2019-2020 the U16 will be a standalone age group. So you are not wrong, but also not right.

^ Arlington boys do not have DA past 2005s next year. The current U15 (2004) Arlington boys age out of DA at the end of this season. Loudoun boys lost DA. They are ECNL for top boys team now.

The boy landscape is different.

My kid cared. Very much into soccer and the opportunities before them.

+1 Most kids that are competitive care, in fact often more than their parents. Hell, parents don't want to have to drive their kids around everywhere. They do it because their kids love it and they love their kids. The poster with the snarky comments is likely a loser, troll without kids. They are insulting soccer parents, yet they are on a soccer parents forum. Yeah ... that make sense.

CCL is not better than the top divisions of edp NL conference. What are you smokin.

The bottom line is that these teams play in EDP and are much stronger than CCL teams. Arlington boys pre-DA U16 won Virginia state cup but it is in the 4th place in its EDP division with -1 goal differential. Does anyone think that they would have had a negative goal differential in CCL after 13 games?

I am a soccer parent who enjoys watching my kid play that's what we enjoy, not letting it consume our lives.

You can't say that in a thread dedicated to soccer and have it carry any weight. The people who truly do as you say you are doing are not on this site and they certainly are not posting. The second you typed and hit submit you became what you just mocked.

+1 I am not sure if I am crazy, but posting on this forum is a fun pastime. Its the same as posting on a newspaper site. None of what we say matters, but it's a nice outlet for expressing thoughts be they informational, biased, or just funny. We used to sit around face-to-face with people we know and discuss things like this on our front porches, but now this is how it is done, online with strangers. Same reason and purpose.

If YouthSoccerRankings is your thing, ten of the top 20 DMV girls teams at 2008/U11 play in EDP. The rest are split between VPL and CCL, where the top VPL team might be pulling up the rankings of other teams in the league and the CCL teams are only ranked by their public results from tournaments. It'll be interesting to see what the flight to/from DA/ECNL will do in a year or three, as we'll theoretically have some "before" data to go along with the "after" data.

My DD plays in this division. it is SUPPOSE to be 2009 girls playing 9v9 but many of the clubs in this division allow some of there top 2008 girls to play down in order to get it's club teams some wins for clout. Happy to say our club does not do this and instead pulls 2009 girls from its "B" team.

Teams are equal to or slightly less than '09 Loudoun Red, '09 Great Falls and '09 Arlington Red to compare. This Fall '19 will be different as those '08s cannot play down and more Travel Clubs enter.

Refs have been higher quality thus far and have not seen any blowouts/uneven matches between teams. Looking at the older brackets before DA/ECNL split, seems EDP does a pretty good job with division placement as well.

I should also say I know nothing about Boys EDP.

There is a rumor that Arlington may be switching to ECNL as well. McLean has boys ECNL currently.
