Is it common to want twins?

I wanted twins because of infertility. And I have twins. They are adults now. Although I love them very very much I would say the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. While the obvious work is easier after K, there are twin issues thru out. Double paying for everything, classroom assignments, not being able to learn from the oldest, in a triangle with the twins. A lot of things. There are many health issues with twins also that you find out in a twin support group. I think it’s good the REs are trying to help women have singletons.

My mother is a twin so I always wanted to *be* a twin growing up. When I started trying to conceive I also wanted twins because I think about how close I am with my siblings and how wonderful it would be to have one just my age like my mother does. But reading about all the risks associated with twins especially to the kids themselves made me much more realistic. I still love the idea but I would never want to actively try for twins in a way I can control because it might endanger the kids.
