Some people have a lot of trouble connecting the dots |
I see the pattern. Comparing humans to rats. Easy enough for all to see. |
Both |
| When you give them money your are actually contributing to the problem |
| Not how bougie is spelled. |
| Scammers and truly homeless with MH issues look totally different. I give money or necessities to the latter. |
Then you - and people like you - are a big part of the problem. The social safety net does exist and these people are not the most in need. Rather, they've found an easy, parasitic way to make some quick cash. |
My tolerance for ignorant communists like you is hanging by a thin thread. |
+1. Arlington, for example, bends over backward to provide a “safety net.” You’re ridiculous and naive if you think it doesn’t exist. Rather, people choose not to take advantage. |
It's this so-called kindness that fuels the problem. No more handouts, no more begging rings. |
And for this reason the Arlington Police Department explicitly discourages giving to panhandlers: https://www.arlnow.com/2015/09/18/police-dont-give-to-roadside-panhandlers/ https://topics.arlingtonva.us/panhandling/ |
They are no more of scammers than TV preachers or mega church pastors. People feel good giving money away. It's a placebo. |
Just like you have every right to envy and covet what others work for. Nice how you've made your philosophy match your work ethic. Funniest post of the month. Yeah, the practice of private property ownership is going away. Gotcha. |
|
Many of the women and children you see are part of sex trafficking organizations. They aren’t keeping the money they get. You truly aren’t helping by encouraging panhandling. Give to reputable charitable organizations.
/another poster who works with the poor. |
Just like you have every right to mistakenly assume those of us who support the distribution of wealth are poor, but you would be wrong. Some of us who think this way have had all the trappings of wealth and education you have, but have grown up to realize these things are not bringing happiness. We find joy in practicing what we preach; by giving away resources. If you don’t like it, fine, you won’t stop us. But it is a HUGE mistake to assume all People who support greater social safety nets are Gen-Z, poverty-level-living, AOC clones because we are not. |
