Can a parent hold back a child in K due to immaturity

Per OP this is a kid in private K who is supposed to be going to the same private first. As I see it, the kid’s parents can ask but as a PP said there is no guarantee. Yes, there is a slightly greater likelihood of them saying yes but don’t count on it.

It is NOT the parent’s decision. Agree, that train left the station when they enrolled the kid in private school.

I agree its up to the private school, but the parents of this kid absolutely could move them to public school and enroll them in K, without issue.

If you had a child with a birthdate that means you have a choice about K one year or the next, then yes, you can hold them in K for two years. And if you're switching from a private K, as long as your child is still not too old for K, then certainly they could go into public K for a second year of K. Within the same private school that would be up to the school

Reading comprehension seems like an issue for a few here. Not relevant.

I just sent in a letter to PG county asking for an immaturity waiver. Not sure how easily they Grant then though as I'm waiting to hear back. There's just no way my kid is ready yet, his birthday is August 30th and has a speech delay for which he is receiving speech therapy for and has some behavioral problems brought on by not being able to communicate well (pronunciation-people not being able to understand what he is saying). He has a private speech therapist though because the count deemed him delayed but not enough so to qualify for services. He is also tiny, the size of a two year old. I really hope they grant it because he would not do well in a public school seeing yet.
