Exactly. Admission rate is basically staying the same. My concern would be where are they putting all the new admits they want to take? New housing, shoving them all in already too small of rooms, or realizing their yield isn't going to be as high as they say. |
| Our school is not following Naviance at all. It is much harder, especially GPA's with public universities like someone mentioned. |
| Still waiting on JMU regular decision. DS has several early action acceptances but waiting on this one which isn't due out until late this month. |
Based on last year - JMU decisions should be out on 3/14. |
| So far DD is accepted everywhere. She did not apply to Ivies, that was unrealistic, UMD was her reach and accepted there too. She applied to 6 schools. Don't know how she will decide, but we hope for in state UMD or out of state if she gets a lot of aid, still waiting on that. DD doesn't have even close to 1400 SAT, and GPA of 4.0. |
What are her stats? I can’t imagine how she got into Maryland if she is not close to that, even with an easy major. |
DD didn't get into UMD with 3.4/1290 for Education. In-state but over half the HS applies - 250 plus kids. |
|
DD accepted to top one 30 school.
Rejected from 1 top 40 and waitlisted one top 40. Waitlisted at two top 50 and admitted one. In all above 50. |
I don't know her exact stats, math act and sat was abysmal like 530.... but her English was perfect score. She got in, we have no connections at all. She is white, if that matters. She is speaks 3 languages? She is president of her club, she is in sports, she traveled. I don't know, she got it. I don't think she even put an easy major, or any major. She did it herself. I think she was going to put biology. I never looked at her application. |
I hope is true - actually they were out Wednesday 3/15 in 2017, and Wednesday 3/14 last year, so maybe it will even bo tomorrow. This is my DC's last pending decision. It's probably the least competitive school he applied to (after GMU) and one of two schools he is still considering, so I'm ready to get the decision already so he can make his choice. (He knows he was recommended for admission to the Visual and Performing Arts College and isn't too worried about academic admissions based on his good stats. |
You don't even know her GPA or test scores? Come on now |
The EA schools my DS was accepted into are significantly higher ranked than JMU but he still wants to consider it. Maybe he'll find out this week from what posters are saying... |
dp. I'd be bitter because I miss my UMD rejected DC so much it hurts but, it's not my nature. I'm so happy for you and your daughter. God bless you. |
I told you her gpa, 4.0. Her stats were 530 on one sat, something like 780 on English. But, for all prior 3 years of HS? no, who cares? |
Thank you! I wish your DC the best of luck. I am sure it will all work out. DD is certified nursing assistant. Does that help? |
