| so odd. all the women in my office with kids around 3 are in their late 30s. my one male coworker who has kids, his wife was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. Age is irrelevant sometimes. |
Tell us more. I would like to hear more about where you are going with this. |
| It also depends if you are in private school where parents tend to be older or public. I am always the youngest. When I told another mom that I am 34 having my third (after she was saying that she was 40 having her second) she told me “oh you are a baby”... |
Why don’t people just shut up instead of making stupid comments like this. |
Nobody here has kids at 23. That's just nuts. There's grad school to attend, startups to fund, nonprofits to start... |
I’m with you PP! Almost 49 with a 1 yo, although I do also have a 5 yo. Oh well. I get along with everyone so don’t really care if I’m older. |
No she's just old af. The female body was designed to have children ages 20-34 |
That’s just mean. Go to bed, grump. I’ll say that I’m not the oldest mom, but I am between jobs and currently the frumpiest since I’m not putting myself together before drop off or pick up. Oh well. This too shall pass. When I get a job, I’m going to go shopping and get all the makeup, etc. |
Ah! I forgot the important bit: my one male coworker who has kids is married to a woman in her early 30s and she has cancer. The point is young or not young means nothing when it comes to what age you are with a 3 year old. No one cares if you are old or young. Particularly illnesses like cancer. |
Well if she's pregnancy at 40 clearly, her body was designed to have them later. I had a healthy baby at 42 with no assistance, the female body was designed to have children as long as one's body can have children. |
|
I’m 40 and have a 9yo, 7yo and 2yo. I had my kids at 30, 32 and 38.
The moms of toddlers are a few years younger but it is insignificant. They may be 35 or so. I don’t feel like the old mom at all. At our elementary school, there are parents whose youngest is 9 and have teenagers. They look quite old, like they could be in their 50s. |
| In my DS’ preschool class some parents are late 40s to mid 50s. Some of them had their first in late 40s |
but then some look a lot younger. If I had to guess the average age for first child among private schools parents I would say 36-37, well higher than national average |
Ummm I don’t think you can have biological kids in late 40s and 50s. |
+1 Some women are just fertile for longer. |
