I think the OP was just being honest in admitting to her initial preoccupation with prestige schools. She's hardly the only one in this forum to think that way. The holier than thou bullshit around here is a little hard to take.

Some people on here need to get a life. Yes, having choices can be nerve-wracking. I have been there in the past for one DC and may be there later today for our second. I am glad OP's decision worked out. Others might choose a different course or follow different reasoning. We have been waitlisted at Holton a couple of times in the past and been disappointed. We applied there again and to one other school this year and now we wait to see. DD seems to like both schools, though perhaps liking the other school a bit better. She also says she'd be happy to continue in MoCo public. So there we are. Good luck to everyone.
