Athleta girl sizing... as an adult?

A small man would fit girls clothes better than a small adult woman. The cut is boyish.

I'm 5'1" and under 100 lbs. The Athleta women's swim shorts in XXS are way too big on me, and as another poster noted, look matronly and unflattering. In fact, the pair that I already own look like a saggy diaper when I wear them in the water. I was tempted by the girls' shorts for the same reason (I want more coverage, but not that much) so I'll definitely give them a try.

I’m 5’4” 120lbs and I can only really wear the XL leggings and stretchy top for athleta girl. Other than that I’m an XS or XXS in Athleta. Their small is too big for me! So it really depends based on your body type if athleta girl works. I’m also a competitive runner and their girl’s clothes do work for performance wear. I’d recommend giving it a try!

I’m 5’1” and 115 and wear Athleta girl XL joggers - very comfortable and fit perfectly. From what I’ve seen so far, the tops are too small and leggings might be, too. For reference, I’m a size 6 in Lululemon tights. I tried on the girls in the store since the regular sizes didn’t fit and they didn’t carry petites.

Waist on larger girl sizes is bigger than on women’s sizes. XL girl was too big for my tall thin 11yo but XXS women’s fit.
