So the only way these cameras are effective as prevention is if someone is monitoring every room all the time. It is not privileged or entitled to think that this is as wrong as putting cameras in bathrooms and toilets

Whatever, it is what it is so I simply don't go into fitting rooms anymore

I don’t understand. When in a dressing room, it says “dressing room under surveillance”, doesn’t that mean that the hallway in the dressing room has a camera focused on It? I don’t think it means they record the inside of a dressing room.

There's no way they record inside dressing rooms. They would be sued out of existence.

When LP staff notices a person acting suspiciously or someone that they want to keep an eye on for whatever reason, they use the cameras to track them throughout the store. Certain areas are monitored more than others in stores (costume jewelry, accessories, basically anywhere with relatively small items that can be easily squirreled away) as well as the cash registers.
