What made you post this?

Obviously was wondering why OP left YP out of the usual HYPSM.

The future belongs to Stanford and MIT.

Harvard, Yale, Princeton is about past privilege.

what he do exactly? Has some gun control legislation been passed?

No, but he gave some great partisan speeches and media interviews.

That's leadership, per Harvard.

Did he get some sort of scholarship or just get admitted? Never mind, I'm sure there will be some sort of "leadership" scholarship for him.

Harvard only gives need-based scholarships.

More than 10 states passed new gun controls laws since Parkland, including Florida (Hogg's home state).
The NRA is on the defense, laying off employees and both corporate partnerships and memberships are way down. Hogg successfully led boycotts to get many of the corporate partners (airlines, Fedex) to cut ties with the NRA.
The Trump Administration has used its executive power to ban bump stocks, a significant policy change made in the wake of Parkland.

DS is going to Stanford. Decent grades but Heavily recruited athlete with a stack of D1 scholarships. I just hope he likes it.

Yup.

The FTC should sue Harvard for fraud in calling itself a "university"

Then don't go . . . the level of bitterness and vitriol over one kid getting into Harvard is really astounding and rather pathetic. It's not like he took your kid's spot.

I’d much rather have my DC learn from/talk to David Hogg than someone who has devoted his or her life to lacrosse or swimming. Who do you think would contribute more to campus life?

A university is a place of learning, not something like a cruise full of "campus life"

And the point was that lacrosse and swimming excellence isn't something that fits a "place of learning". While I don't think Hogg is academically qualified for Harvard, at least he has done something of more importance than sports.

You have an extremely narrow view of learning. I'm fairly confident that Harvard has a better sense of what it wants on its campus than a parochial, judgmental shrew like you.

How about Harvard admitting some Black Lives Matter leaders for diversity?

They’re willing to reduce their standards somewhat but not that much.

OP: two words: WATER POLO.

Seriously. Good luck.

Just find a relatively obscure sport that those types of schools recruit for, and you are golden.
