Agree. It's one thing to be forced or extremely pressured. It's another to willingingly do it figuring the trade off of fame, money and a possible Oscar could be worth it.

Could you let this go people, please? She is a no body actress who's films have been tanking in the US for whatever reason and NOBODY gives anything about who she did or didn't sleep with .... stop giving this air.

She won a friggin' Oscar at a very young. In fact, she won an Oscar and most people were saying "Who the hell is this?"

She plays the same character over and over. Too young with too much responsibility from a poor family in impoverished circumstances. All the roles she does well have been some variation of this.

Watched Red Sparrow on a plane. She is awful in it. To be fair, though, the entire movie is embarrassingly horrendous. The horror film with Aronofsky was terrible too.

This. Of course she would deny it, whether or not he had gotten exposed last year as such a dirt bag. I believe it’s been a rumor for YEARS, this isn’t new news. I feel awful that women like her and many others probably felt in order to get ahead in show business this is what they had to do, it’s so gross and just awful. +1 I don't buy her denial but, regardless, it's her business how she chose to deal with a predator. She doesn't owe us anything.

This. I have no idea whether anything happened with JL, but this is an industry with far more supply than demand. There are lots of actresses who are attractive enough and decent enough acting skills, so how do some of them become stars while most don't? Some of the successful ones probably did willingly sleep with some pig to gain the competitive edge. JL and tons of others aren't the most beautiful or talented so there's lots of competition at that level. Who knows how JL was able to rise above the others. Could have been luck or networking too, but it sure wasn't extreme talent.
