Updates on LAMB at Kingsbury?

Of course, this does not mean that they are all this way and I have also talked with some LAMB parents who I like very much. I will just say this - the messenger matters. You should not let your obnoxious parents be the messengers on this. Goes over like a lead balloon.

Newsflash: there are obnoxious parents at every school—public, charter, and private.

Have you attended the hearings? Do you actually know that the messengers are “obnoxious?” Mind your own business and keep your generalized comments and observations to yourself.

I agree- the LAMB parents at those meetings were unbearable. So full of themselves.

As opposed to the NIMBY neighbors, who think they should be able to control what happens in a CITY. If you don’t like density, move to Gaithersburg.

It seems like a reasonable request from the neighbors.

Very reasonable. Lamb can kick out the poors another way.

Referring to people as “the poors” and the sentiment in this comment are vile and disgusting.

Which "poors" is LAMB supposedly trying to kick out? What/who are "the poors"?

A school has been operating in that location. I hope LAMB gets the opportunity to do so as well.

Who are "the poors" that LAMB is trying to kick out? The families living in $1.3mm homes on Farragut Street? It actually makes more sense for the school to consolidate the 3 properties, so that they can use the funds for better support of their kids - many of whom are actually low income.

I literally have no idea what you’re saying, but you’re Really disingenuous if you think moving the school across town won’t affect some of the most vulnerable people at your school.

We are fine with density, we Just don’t want you.

Just about every neighbor I know of supports them moving in. There was just disagreement over whether to start at the current school cap of about 300-400 students or allow for the full expansion of the building at the start. I think that's around 600.

The school and DDOT put out some super hand-wavy studies about how it would be OK. And lots of assurances from the LAMB director who isn't there any more. Not very reassuring.

The neighbors need to mind their own business.

Wow, you sound like such an amazing person. Would you please come set up shop in my neighborhood?

LOL at you

I mean ... I plan to. See you in 2020.

Maybe, but with that attitude, I can see why neighbors would be hesitant to trust anything out of your school.

Lamb will have a new principal and ED by then. We know they will not live up to any promises. They screwed their own parents over. Of course they’ll do it to us too.

Does lamb need to wait for lawsuits to settle to proceed?

Don’t know anything about LAMB but the neighbors are absolute a-holes about carter Barron, so not surprised by anything they do.

What happened with Carter Barron? All I've seen are the yearly tennis tournaments, and I haven't seen the neighbors do anything with that.

I really don’t get it. If they don’t want more kids at an already existing school then they should move to a rural area.

Wow people are really nuts. I guess it’s possible some of the crazies on this lawsuit are on this thread. So let me get this straight: a few Lamb parents rubbed you the wrong way at a meeting, so now you have a personal vendetta against the whole school, and think it shouldn’t be allowed to buy a building which is already a school? Because some kind of “promises” won’t be kept? What exactly? Just basic montoeing of traffic flows and mitigation, really? Which will certainly be less bothersome than the traffic from the luxury condos you prefer, all because you decided a public SCHOOL is somehow just snobby and awful? I swear to god some people have some kind of autoalerts on certain schools on here and they pop up and trash talk any freaking chance they get.

NP here

For starters the neighbors stopped the majority of outdoor concerts held there in the summer.

You clearly have been to none of the meetings where residents voiced reasonable concerns and suggestions. LAMB has shown no interest in working with the community other than their token unenforceable "promises".
Thank you for showing your ignorance on the matter.

What are you talking about? This is literally the definition of fake news! Carter Barron amphitheatre was closed by the National Park Service due to structural deficits. This had absolutely nothing to do with the neighbors! There are plans in the works to get it operating again, but it is going to be a minimum of 5 years. It's amazing that people just state things they know nothing about!
