| I drive a 15-year-old Acura that runs well but it's got the usual assortment of dings and scratches from careless drivers. Plus one stupid dent from when I hit a column in a too-tight parking garage. I just don't care anymore. I'm hesitating on getting a new car because I know that first dent or scratch will really piss me off! |

No, I would not repair. I stopped repairing cosmetic damage to my car when we moved to the DC area. Not worth it.
If your family members are so invested they can pay for the repairs. |
| Would you want to live in a neighborhood where most cars parked outside had dings and dents in them? |
Welcome to Silver Spring. Love it! |
I would never notice. Get a hobby, Nosy Nancy. |
+1. DC - Bloomingdale. You park on the street, you get dings and dents. |
I use to live on the Upper Westside in Manhattan. This pretty much describes every car parked on the street. Loved living there! |
| Shame is an awfully strong term for ignoring a ding on your fender, don't you think? |

I have a ding in the front of my car (that my DH did, lol) - and that we haven't gotten fixed. I am not ashamed at all. I will say I have been stopped multiple times by guys in parking lots who tell me they could give me a real deal on the repair for it.
And while I am a feminist as a general matter, when I encounter people are randomly trying to sell me things, I claim I can't make any decisions without DH. Terrible, I know, lol. |
That’s what pushed me to get my dent fished—those skeevy guys pulling up and trying to sell me a repair job. |
DO NOT agree to these, by the way. They will mess your car up worse. Ask me how I know
