Cleo for a girl?

I like Cleo. I don't like Clio.

OP here! Ok this is what I meant Clio! Not Cleo

She'll be constantly correcting everyone on the spelling.

Still not a fan. They are pronounced exactly the same.

I know a teenaged Clio and really like the name. Her younger sister is another Greek muse - parents are academic types.

I like it, op. But, if you don't I would think of another name.

Just saw your newer post. I like Cleo rather than Clio.

Having said that, I think Cleo is the more logical spelling.

Having said that - if I really liked the name, I wouldn't care too much about that, but it's a consideration.

I think Chloe goes better with Zoe though Or maybe that's too much rhyming!

No to Chloe and Zoe. Too much. Really, pp?

FWIW I know 3 baby Cleos (though no Clios. And yes, I also read Clio and all I see is Clit).

Clio: My name is Clio.
People: C-L-E-O?
Clio: No, C-L-I-O.

Not a big hardship, I think.

I never said it was a hardship but she will be correcting for the rest of her life.

That's kind of a silly reason not to name someone. I have a traditional name that is not uncommon at all (it's generally in the top 100-150, and for many years used to be in the top 10) and I constantly have to spell it out and people constantly mispell it. And I don't have an odd spelling of it, either.

I think it's safe to say that most people have to correct spellings of their names, either first or last.

I totally see clit with Clio. I really like Cleo, though have only met dogs with the name. You could go with Clea - one of Durell’s Alexandria quartet - if you like obscure literary names. Or, better yet, Justine. I love the name Cassandra nn Cassie but it’s not a happy Greek reference (doomed to always tell the truth but never be believed).

It's a very pretty, simple name. I love it!

No, I still vote Vivian if you're the same poster I think you are!
