Lulu here. Two things -

First, don't be discouraged when people don't comment on your weight loss! I think most people are nervous about saying something -- they think it's like saying you were fat before. I'm SURE people notice, but don't know how to s ay it.

Second, I just started WW. As you lose weight, do you get allocated fewer points? When you hit your goal, do you get more points for maintenance?

I like WW a lot so far, but I have yet to find the place to read this kind of information online.

Anonymous wrote:Tall Girl here. Lulu, thanks for the recipe. I'm challenged in the kitchen. Since kids, I feel like all I make is spaghetti, hot dogs, mac and cheese and stove top stuffing. I'm exaggerating a bit, but I am really weak in the food prep area lately.

Good news - lost another pound for a total of 18. However, I am really struggling with the loss of a point on theWW program. It wasn't so bad when I went down the first point because you get the extra 35 per week and you can earn exercise points. But, this time, well, I'm having some trouble. I know it will pass, but I feel a little like whining about it this morning for some reason.

One other thing since I'm on a whining note. Everyone is noticing that there is something different about me but no one seems to notice it's that I've lost weight. I keep getting asked if I colored my hair, got a haircut, have a new piece of jewelry and things like that. I suppose I should look at the bright side - maybe my friends didn't notice how fat I'd become.

I lost about 25 pounds 2 years ago on WW. For a long time, no one said anything about my weight loss and I'm 5'2 so I feel like every pound is noticable. Then, all of a sudden, I don't know what it was, but somehow between pounds 22 and 23 people started noticing I had lost weight. It was strange. Maybe something about my body's shape changed, who knows? My point is that people will eventually begin to notice, don't get discouraged!

From my experience, I lost a point at every 10 pound mark (180, 170, 160 etc). I don't know how maintenance works (yet).

Tall Girl here. Thanks for the support. Lulu, PP is right. You lose a point at each ten pound increment. I just lost my second point and it has really motivated me to exercise because it gives me the opportunity to earn more points. I don't know what happens at maintenance.

Hey, Tall Girl - OP here. Sorry for being MIA. Sick nanny and various other inconveniences...

As for your post, WE noticed!!! Woo hoo! Post about your loss here and we will cheer even the .5 lb. As for me, I've been cross-ways schedule- and stress-wise, but not existing on McDonalds (my usual go to when work gets crazy!). I still have not gotten on the scale, but plan to tomorrow. Cross fingers for me!

As for the recipes, I am also not Martha Stewart. We've had decent progress around here, when we get home late, at cooking up a little (.25 lb) extra lean organic ground beef with a little sea salt and herbs du provence and serving it over a bed of raw spinach. Or a baked potato with a tiny bit of butter and sesame seeds, and a little ramekin of 2% lowfat cottage cheese. I hope this helps somebody who is int he less of a gourmand camp, like me. I love Lulu's salmon recipe and plan to make soon on a weekend!

I'll join and think a blog might be better but something is better than nothing. I'll go by MB. My goal is to lose 8 pounds by New Year's, and then do another goal. My LO is 2 months and I'm about to go back to work, apparently in a sack as I can't wear my pre-preg clothes and already gave away my maternity clothes. I'm very disciplined during the day but after dinner turn into a munchie monster and ruin all my hard work.

Hey Lulu where the cookies you made WW? Could you give us the recipe? Has anyone one on WW made the no point soup? It is really good. I will go by HDH. I am on WW but it is going very slow.

MB here: would appreciate any evening anti-munchie tips. I pop one bag of kettle corn style popcorn and mix that with air popped popcorn, which makes for a cheap and low cal snack. Other ideas?

Momto2 here

Lost 4 lbs this week by actually sticking to WW and tacking my food/points! Its not even so hard to follow bc I'm BFing so I get a ton of points, but to but so easy to get discouraged.

Tall Girl here. Momto2, you rock. 4 pounds in a week is amazing. My best on WW has been 4 in two weeks.

OP, my fingers are crossed for you tomorrow morning. Let us know how you do.

Since I am awful in the kitchen, I thought I would share a few of my "finds". Skinny cows are ice cream sandwiches that have about 140 cal and are only 2 WW points. Dietz and Watson makes light ham and turkey lunchmeats. Regular ham is 50 calories and 1 WW point per slice whereas this is 50 cal and 1WW point for 3 slices. Sandwich thins and light english muffins are only 1 WW point. Ball Park fat free franks are also only 1 WW point.

My exciting news is that I went shopping on Friday and bought a new suit two sizes smaller than when I started WW, which was right after Labor Day. I was so psyched that I didn't eat even a single piece of Halloween candy.

Congrats momto2 and Tall Girl! You are the inspiration I need to avert my eyes (and mouth) around the tubs of candy on my counter! Tonight I ate veggie burger with laughing cow cheese on a deli thin for a grand total of 4 WW points. It was the end of a long weekend and I could not get it together to make anything more ambitious.
My weekend "find" was bbq Popchips. A big(gish) bowlful of 19 have 3 WW points and are just the right fake BBQ taste of regular chips.
I lost another .9 pounds this past week for a grand total of 14. I am determined not to start picking at the Halloween candy as its a slippery slope.

Here is the cookie recipe -- according to WW, 2 points per cookie. But they are filling.

PUMPKIN - OATMEAL COOKIES
2 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. pumpkin
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chips or raisins
Combine dry ingredients. Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop 1/4 cup dough on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees.

OP here. Down 1 lb but not feeling like it's real because of the Halloween candy! They even gave us bags of it on our desk at work. I threw it out yesterday afternoon when I caught myself mindlessly eating it. Must get focused!!! Congrats to you all. 4 lbs? WOW!!!

Lulu here. I had my weekly weigh in Monday and I lost 3 lbs in a week! Yay!

I am still waiting for the hungry feeling to go away, though.

Hey everyone. Tall Girl here. It was a rough week for me with way too many events - my anniversary, a work dinner, lunch at a relative's house and a weekend out of town visiting family, which means all restaurant meals. I am happy to say that I didn't gain any weight.

On a positive note, I went clothes shopping and bought pants in my Christmas goal size. As a reward, I bought this awesome jacket and a festive sweater that make me feel like a million bucks.

Lulu, congratulations. Hope everyone else is doing well.
