The WNT U20s not even qualifying for the WWC is fine? Smh, you are out of the loop.

Umm, you mean barely not making it to _knockout phase_ of the WC with two of their best U-20s not even on the team against Japan and Spain? A single result in one age group and def not what you said above.

Get a grip, LOL, and here we go again. This topic has been covered in about three threads now. Get over it already, it's not the same situation as the men.

You do not follow women’s soccer do you?

Wrong again.

US women U-20 did not make it out of the group phase of this years WC, but they qualified, contrary to what you stated. Just one goal against Spain would have put them through to the knockout round in the WC. That qualifies as barely missing out on the knockout.

All facts.

My post was factual, yours was not. By the way, the two teams that they ended behind in the group of death ended up being WC champs and finalists. You probably didn't watch that far.

Two best players in that age group (U20), Mal Pugh and Tierna Davidson didn't play on that team, because they are promoted up. Another fact. Who knows where they would have finished with those two on the team.

In sum, you are full of it. Hope you can bring fact to the men's side discussion, but I'm not holding my breath

Yes, the above is all true. That other poster is full of crap and has presented that agenda in numerous other threads. I think it was a she last time (but who knows) and she just can't help herself.

No, neither she nor her friend. Cue God bless America for them. It’s like the band that kept playing while the Titanic sank.

Wow! Some posters are always recognizable for the same regurgitated nonsense. Instead of being smart enough and wise enough to acknowledge a difference of opinion, in your childishness, you have to insult and assume collaborative conspiracies.

Guess what genius? There are numerous posters who come to this board. It's not just a little room of 2 or 3 people.

It sounds like the US soccer media is trying to sell us the idea that we would hire one of Berhalter, Vermes or Marsch, because they are best qualified. Pretty pathetic for an 11 months world wide search.

If we lose to the young Mexican team this week, would we see a new coaching appointment? It has been almost a year since the crashed out of the WC qualifying and it seems that nothing has changed.

Guess we'll see. The players have definitely changed.

Anyone know if Lucho Acosta is eligible to play for the US? He’s certainly not going to get called up by Argentina

I guess you could also argue that the formation has changed, given that we played 5 defenders and 3 holding mids against France. As for the players' change, it is not meaningful as there is not much improvement in terms of quality of players. The team is younger and slightly more technical, but the style of play is the same.

Coaching and players, among other factors, dictate the formation, not the converse. Culture and coaching dictate style and strategy. Let's wait and see what happens. Formation can change on a game to game basis, so I dont see how pointing that out is relevant.

When you line up with 5 defenders and 3 defensive midfielders in a friendly, it says a lot about your style of play and that you are playing for result (i.e., not to be embarrassed in a friendly game). It shows where the coaching priorities are.
