Yes I'd say about 2-3 times a year. And those visits are planned well in advance and sometimes get cancelled because a kid is sick.
I would not travel down 95 for most of my friends, as much as I love them. I go from South Arlington to Bethesda for one friend, and it takes about 40 minutes, sometimes more. I have another friend who lives in NoMa and we see each other more, but that's because she's great about crossing the river. I have friends in Springfield and that's not too bad to get to on the weekends, so that works. But if you live in Ashburn? You may as well live in Colorado. |
A few times a year but we try to meet halfway for dinner so neither couple has a long drive. |
The dynamic changes enormously as now you really have to plan something. Before it was "no plans tonight, come on over with the kids." Now it takes a ton of planning and juggling schedules. |
Takes me an hour to get from Columbia Heights to Arlington. If we didn’t suck it up and make the effort we’d never see anyone. Sad reality in the DMV. |
My cafe, bars, concert friends .. twice a year.
My zoo, festival, hiker, museum, day trip friends once a month. I'm. Not drinving in the city to sit in your house/bar/cafe to sit and eat/drink but if you are usuning thevsmmrmtititexuou ckaimyo eant to be close to, we will see each other. |
We try to meet once a year, but with kids it is nearly impossible to coordinate schedules. Once you no longer need babysitters it gets a bit easier, but still maybe 1-2x per year then. |
