No way! My 8 yo is into these. At 11 they pretend to be so grown up. Money or gift cards will be the safe bet. Cash is best too, less hassle.

Origami paper and book
Fancy pencil pouch, pen set and journal
Her fave board games or card games
Her favorite novels (for a friend who she knows reads) plus a book light
Galaxy sky projector
Water bottle and water bottle stickers
Spy/decoder gadget for sending coded messages
Self healing mat and rotary cutter (for friend who crafts)

She isn't into a lot of the super girly suggestions. Absolutely not to the iTunes suggestion, as everyone uses streaming music.

Other than the origami kit my 11 year old would not like anything in this list. Kids this age are unpredictable so a gift card to Target or Amazon is the best choice
