Do you feel sorry for children of celebrities?

I can see it as more of a positive of a celebrity’s child, say in Hollywood, wants to work in the same field. You cannot say they don’t have a huge leg up. Sure rumor Willis is ugly, but her success is 100% due to her name. She never would have made it in this field without her parents. But perhaps that’s the problem. Why acting, rumor? Did she feel pressured into following in her parents’ Footsteps?

But, Hollywood is full of mentally ill people. That’s hard.

Like Tori Spelling?
Rumor went to college (high school?) with my SIL's little sister and they are good friends. Apparently Rumor is a triple threat and just not well known for it.

It's amazing to me that the parents say they want to protect them as children, but as soon as that familial relationship gives them a leg up, the kids exploit the hell out of it. See, e.g., all the children of actors who have acting and modeling careers. I don't believe for a second that they are more talented or beautiful than everyone else. But they get the careers over people without those connections.

This is my answer too.

If we think about ‘equal opportunity’...yes, these kids can mess up like any other kid and end up in bad places. But, as for good choices, doors are open to almost anything they want to do.

I feel sorry for all of those related to or associated with celebrities in any capacity. They get thrust into the spotlight just for being related.

I've seen some crazy online behavior from fans directed to the parents of celebs or non-famous siblings of celebs. Stalking, catfishing, etc.

My good friend's sister was a PA for a B-list celeb. She was photographed a lot with the celeb and eventually, her name was associated with her face. The celeb's fans followed/stalked her social media and then when she posted a photo with my friend and tagged her, they flocked to my friend's social media. They literally followed anyone associated with someone associated with their favorite celeb to be "closer" or get some kind of inside scoop or photo.

Actually I have the ability to feel bad for all of them.

This is me too. I have said a prayer of gratitude so many times for not being born to a celebrity.

Chelsea got a 125k plus bonus job at McKinsey after getting an undergrad from Stanford and an MPhil from Cambridge. That's a normal job offer for that resume.

Right because a $200,000 a year contract at 23 for a non-finance position is standard. https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/evolution-chelsea-clinton-joins-nbc/story?id=14949445

Then there's the $600,000 a year contract at 30 with NBC when she was previously known for ducking the media like it was her job. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2014/06/chelsea-clinton-made-600k-at-nbc-doing-nothing.html

It's fine. I'm not knocking her for making at least $10 million before she was 35. But lets not act like it was earned. To get the news gig and consulting positions she had takes rich/famous parents or extraordinary experience levels.

I feel sorry for tori' s kids and the others whose parents are crazy.

Katie Holmes' s kid too. She must be lonely especially with Tom away doing movies all the time and Katie trying to escape Scientology. And no siblings.

Katie escaped Scientology years ago and she's been giving Suri a pretty normal life with a sprinkling of famous-parent perks.

Yep. Alexa Ray Joel is a perfect example. She got all the wrong features of each parent. It's horribly sad and I can't help but wonder if that's a part of why she tried to kill herself. She should have come out beautiful and instead she looks like Billy Joel instead of her model mother, whose OTHER children got her genes instead somehow.

Alexa is beautiful.

Have you seen pictures of her as an adult?

She is far more stunning than Christie Brinkley's other kids.

I agree with you, Alexa was a late bloomer, but she's come into her own.

She's " come into her own" but getting a bunch of plastic surgery. Because she was really self-conscious of her looks.

I think Alexa Joel is attractive.

Perhpas, after she had all that plastic surgery. Didn’t she get a nose job and a boob job.

Nose job. But look at her teen year pictures - she's always had a huge chest.

Yes, the Chelsea salary at McKinsey was standard. I know because I graduated from LSE, similar to Cambridge except lower ranked. I had classmates who got offers like that from McKinsey. 125k plus a bonus was standard for masters students and mbas. She had an MPhil from
Cambridge.
