Ranking of DMV youth clubs, regardless of league

But it's not - they actually fix incorrect results. Our entire league has correct results and the app including all external tournaments. I'd say the rankings match almost exactly with how the teams would be subjectively graded as well.

Does it rank passing accuracy?
Does it rank the number of successful dribbles with a positive net result?
Does it rank combined team decision making?
Does it rank goals off set pieces vs run of play?

Basically, the app will tell you that the best team that has a horrible goalie is a bad team

If you want to rank the litany of things that you listed above, then start an app to do that. Hire the statisticians to keep track of said items. Geez, it's freaking youth soccer, not the EPL for Pete's sake. All in all, I think the Rankings app does a decent job of placing teams where they should be. I know when looking at my DDs ECNL team and who she was playing at playoffs, it was pretty accurate with the predictive side of things. If you are looking at results - that is WINS, then yes, the team may have wonderful metrics as you describe, but if the goalie can't stop a beachball, then right, they are a bad team overall.

The point is, its not a soccer ranking app.

Oh for goodness sake. If you don't want to look at the "scoreboard app" then don't look at it. Look, for all of time, people wanted to know who was the best and in large part, that has always been decided on who is winning as decided by how that sport is judged. In pretty much all sports, you are talking about out scoring your opponent. It's not decided on who connected the most passes, or has the most possession or who wins the most 50/5t0 balls. Are those things important in the overall development of players, sure, I'll admit that, but that's not what "rankings" are all about.

And the comment about the goalie is just pretty weak. I'm not sure what level that your kids are playing, but by the time that teams are U13 and above they are having kids that want to play goalie and are serious about it. If teams are playing at levels when folks really start to look at "rankings" and are in ECNL, MLSN, etc, there is a serious goalie and not just the leftover kid that got stuck there.

I can only rank the 2017 teams in MoCo/DC. I have seen all of these teams playing and plenty more. I’m just not ranking the teams that are not competitive.

Agree Arlington is probably top. Richmond might be the best organization but several teams have better talent. SYC and VDA are too low.

My kid's U11 team was ranked very high, because we had three early developed defenders and a good goalie who was also a good basketball player and ice hockey goalie
The team overall was mediocre

In case you are not aware, you are very blind to VA and B-More. I know as I was there in the beginning. And just so you know, there will be 6-12 kids that will land in your squad over the next 3 years who are playing on tiny clubs right now.

The shocked and horror of big club parents is quite hilarious when their kid is destroyed by a kid playing on a team rank 200ish on the Rankings app.

2) Arlington
3) Achilles
4) VDA
5) Everybody else
