Doesn't surprise me. STEM kids pursuing STEM careers. Will naturally gravitate toward strong tech schools and large research institutions with the firepower to be on the cutting-edge. I would expect the TJ college list to look very similar. I'm sure there's a much stronger representation of LAC's on the RMIB senior destination list.

This makes sense.
I think the SMAC kids are naturally drawn to the large research institutions.
I would not be surprised if the RMIB list while equally good looked different

Does anyone have a list of the RMIB senior destinations?

I believe this refers to a comment on a thread on the College board about Whitman senior destinations.

Does anyone have a number on how large the 2018 SMAC class was? Still approx. 100?

If so, this list is quite impressive viz. TJ's list, considering they have between 480-490 in each year.

It's about 100 students, maybe slightly less as a few drop out along the way.

Thanks! On a per capita basis, Blair seems to be at least a head above TJ! I only wish MCPS had a whole school dedicated to SMAC magnet. That would really burnish MCPS's credentials.

If they went from 400 kids to 2000 kids, I would not expect the results to be the same.

Exactly. also I think it is nice to be in a regular high school and take half your classes with the comprehensive kids.
