There are some people who don’t realize homosexuals are people deserving of love and rights until they know one, but there are also conservatives who will disown and shame children who are “sinning” by being homosexual. There can also be a lot of damage done before a child comes out if Grandma is making constant nasty comments.

Being homosexual is not a sin in the Catholic Church.

Homosexual acts are. Go down to the local tenderloin if you want to understand why.

Exactly. It’s a risky bet to make. You can’t keep your keep your kids away from the in-laws, particularly if you divorce. And the BF doesn’t sound like he would prefer to go along to get along.
