It's a 2 door muscle car with a awesome sounding v8! I got it because I've always wanted one.

“I’ve always wanted one” is something you get to indulge after you’ve established yourself.

Well...that's exactly what your MOM felt when you came roaring into their driveway with your amazing new monster $500/month muscle car of awesomeness last year!

Look, everybody, OP is never going to listen to any of you if you keep referring to his (most like) Dodge Challenger as a truck.

The Challenger is a muscle car.

Thank you.

There. Fixed it.

Yes, but you cannot afford it. No reason your mom should not charge $400 when your priority is your car. Get a second job.

+1

Stop freeloading on your parent. Your mom probably got fed up with you not helping out financially and then seeing you buying an brand new big ass truck was the last straw...grow up and try to be financially independent!!

I agree with this poster OP along with you wanting to impress people at a stoplight. My parents didn’t charge me rent but I also wasn’t dumb enough to do what you did especially when I was up to my eyeballs in student loan debt. Hopefully you learned your lesson.

OP’s Mom started this thread to figure out how to deal with their deadbeat kid

This is a deadbeat kid and I'm glad he's getting charged rent. I hope I raise my kids not to get such pricey cars that need pricey insurance

I was also wondering why everyone kept referring to it as a truck. Also, OP, if you were going to get a dodge you should have gotten a Charger.

You need another job or a side hustle or something. Drive for uber, deliver pizzas.

refinance your loan through your bank for a lower car payment?

stop partying and wasting the rest of your spending money and start living like an adult. $400 rent isn't much. get a second job like millions of hard working Americans have done. The more time you work, the less time you have to waste spending money.
