Oh, the weekend night partying that you do at college can be very, very educational. If you think that there is something particularly "collegiate" about off campus Friday night activities Vs the social scene at the beach....you are living in La La land my friend. |
If your senior is not going to beach week, then why did you feel the need to comment on this thread? |
I went to beach week, but it was nothing like yours. Sure, we drank and got a little crazy, but there were no drugs or random people having sex. I guess it all depends what the group is like. |
You must be the same poster who insisted in another beach week thread that kids will be so focused on learning while in college, that they just won't have the time to get drunk, party, etc. You're so cute!

| Not going - DC's says it's not DC's thing. Instead going a bit later with some friends to our house in Maine. They can hike and bike in Acadia, take out the motor boat, kayak and paddle board, buy lobsters at the dock for dinner, build bonfires in the backyard, play golf and tennis -- in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Sounds like a lot better time, IMO. |
And get laid |
Because they aren't in college yet? When they are in college they can do college things. I mean with your logic, why not let them party over Christmas break? They'll be at beach week soon enough. Heck back it all the way up to Junior summer because in one short year they'll be at beach week. |
| DD went last year and still complains. Everyone fighting over what to do. Half the house got in trouble (same half that was livid the rest would not allow them to have a party in their house) The one friend there with a car got sick of always being used for rides from everyone else. Everyone sticking the same people with the messes and leaving the house a disaster. “Nothing about it was worth the money we spent” she says. |
Different poster but the title asked whose kid was going so the answer is relevant. No way would my kids go. This article is almost 10 years old and I’m sure it’s much worse now. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapediatrics/fullarticle/345261 |
I think you got the 13 year olds mixed up with the 18 year olds. |
