Orchids are not high maintenance! They look amazing for months, then they stop flowering until their next flowering season. You just gotta barely water them and give them a tiny bit of orchid food once a week.

Roses, now there's a kind of flower that needs real love and attention.

But OP, I wouldn't send a card. It just explicitly reminds her of the fact that she's alone. Make her dinner or invite her out for a simple lunch and just be there for her as the PPs above said.
