It's surprising that Cooper MS in tony McLean has fewer than 10.

It doesn't have a GT/AAP Center.

The GT/AAP students whose live in the Cooper district attend Longfellow or Kilmer instead.

Whoever said only GT kids can get into TJ?

Cooper MS is a school where there are many wealthy kids who end up in Langley and do well enough there to make it the 2nd best HS in NoVa. There's no reason why more kids going to TJ shouldn't be represented from Cooper.

A very significant majority of the kids getting into TJ come from a GT/AAP Center.

(Like that better? )

Many of the Cooper kids matriculate to private secondary schools (after being denied admission to TJHSST). It's called the golden safety net.

Why go to a private secondary school when Langley is just as good or better than private?

Well, all the wealthy kids at Cooper, that got all the help that they did...what happened to them and why couldn't they make it to TJ?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I mean maybe Gonzaga, one of the New England boarding schools, or Madeira/Foxcroft, but if you go to O'Connell/Paul VI/Ireton instead of Langley and you're not a fairly strict Catholic, well, that's just something I can't understand.

(Plus if you're going to go private after failing to get into TJ, why not live in Lake Barcroft or a nicer part of a bad HS zone? Why spend the bank to live in the Langley zone?)

You have too much time on your hands if you worry so much about someone else's choices.

Where did you get these numbers? Source, please.

Cooper = a big fat, whopping zero.
