Recommendation for private testing for AAP appeal

There are posts on this board suggesting the FCPS may have flagged certain private testers. You can search and find those threads. Who knows if that's true, but I certainly wouldn't take chances with a private tester. Also, you can't know for sure whether recommendations of specific people on this board are unbiased/independent recommendations. This is an anonymous forum, anyone can post whatever they feel like.

Yes. She was awesome!!!

I've posted before. We used Dr. Dahlgren for a WISC and WJ for my younger child (probably didn't need it; she wound up in pool and got in on first round) and WISC and psychoeducational testing for my older one, who is not in AAP. She's not the warmest person in the world, is pretty businesslike, and kind of freaked me out about my oldest's future with ADHD. But her report for him was very methodical and received compliments from both the developmental pediatrician and the school team that gave him a 504.

You can't go wrong with GMU. They are excellent, and the fact that FCPS at one point was advised to use them exclusively is a point in their favor in my mind.

You can make an appointment now for April so you have it if you need it.

We have very similar situations.
Dr dahlgren was brutally honest and I really appreciated that.
Years later, I still re read her reports on both my kids, one aap, one adhd. Those reports have been spot on. Almost like a crystal ball with both the positives and negatives.

I’ve been deep into the appeals threads and have not seen where certain private testers have been “flagged” negatively. Share a link ....that’s interesting.

Nothing on flagged private testers and the link to the pdf is dead. Are there other posts?
