An Au Pair might work out, it’s not too expensive, but they live in the house. If you can handle a stranger in the house I would opt for this over SACC. I think I am done with SACC, it’s like gambling.

Agreed. We are Navy, our to San Diego now back after 5 years.
Hated Fort Hunt, now over on the other side of Fairfax County, Sunrise Valley is fine.

Can't speak to summer but we use afternoon SACC at Pine Spring and have been very happy. DD always complains that I pick her up too early.

Good for you guys. I am on the other side near Belvoir and having the worst time.
I am with the others about SACC near Fort Belvoir, it horrible.

It’s a good thing that there is a function to allow us to be anon on here, because it sounds like at some schools they would make it hard for the kids and retaliate.

Franklin Sherman SACC is great. The kids love it. The staff are pleasant and responsive. We've also used SACC at Haycock. Not as good there. The main woman hated my son and was mean to him. We're not going to use it again if my kids ends up at Haycock.

Same problem here as well. The main woman at SACC Fort Hunt hates me and my kid, she tolerates my wife. We moved into Arlington but have our kids in a Catholic School now. No SACC drama. Roll the dice and take a chance with SACC in Fairfax County.

Waynewood is great, George is a rockstar. We had more issues with Mr. Myer the principle (former)and other parents rather then the SACC.

As a former Ft. Hunt SACC parent, I'm so sorry for all that current parents are going through. Principal Fitzpatrick might be motivated to engage with SACC leadership if a groundswell of parents approach him united. Even if it's not his call directly, he should take ownership of a negative situation at his school that he can try to influence and ameliorate.

I made job changes our second year there after having a 5 year old in before and after care at SACC and seeing things like her peeing her pants after being told she couldn't use the bathroom unless it was the exact specified time (she never had problems during the school day, but could not hold it over an hour). They were also all crammed into one room most of the time and had to sit on the floor before snack, and then got shouted at to get up. It was not warm and fuzzy at all. This thread affirms my decisions, but I still want to see change. Such dysfunction.

My kids aren't happy at Hunt Valley. It used to be much better with the staff much more engaged and more activities. My kids used to ask to be left at SACC longer. Now, they can't wait to be picked up and hate going. Other kids there feel the same.

My daughter said that they still make the kids sit on the floor before a snack. She also said that the kids are prevented from going to the bathroom.

Two girls at Hunt Valley they also hate it there. We are thinking of taking the kids out.

I don’t think that Mr. Fitzpatrick can do much. if you know this area you know how hard it is to get the parents to attend PTA, Boy Scout/Girl Scout, or even volunteer. I am thinking of going to the PTA. Any thoughts?

I don’t think that the principle can do much. SACC makes a lot of money for the county. Do you think they are going to mess with that?
