Vitamin C serum turning my face orange?!?!

Anonymous
You can make the serums yourself very cheaply. I think it is better to make vitamin c serum yourself as it has a very short shelf life. It doesn't last long enough to justify spending the money particularly on the skinceuticals. There are many sites with recipes and even amazon sells the powders. It's very cheap to make and I know what is in mine and I never feel bad about tossing it.

Another DE user that is not turning orange.

I like this Vit C, no orange color, and it's an affordable $20. My facial person just told me to keep it in a drawer out of natural light.

OP here. How much do you use each time? One pump? A half pump?

Im on my third bottle of this and I really like it. I’ve been getting skin compliments too and it’s $22.

DP but I use 1.5 pumps on my face and 1 pump on my neck. Never turned orange. My serum also isn't orange. How old is yours?

Mine is a light clear tangerine orange. This is the color it has been the entire two months I've had the bottle, as well as the same color as the bottle I got in the "Littles" sampler kit - both were purchased from two different places (Dermstore and Sephora).

Doesn't sound like it's oxidized then. But just so you know, Dermstore isn't an authorized retailer of Drunk Elephant anymore and they are selling year-old product.

My DE serum is orange, I bought it at sephora. It's supposed to be orange. That's odd the other person said their DE serum isn't orange!

There were plans for them to nix the artificial coloring so that users could tell when their serum oxidized. Not sure if that actually happened, but that was the plan at least 6 months ago.

OP here. Yes, I'm aware that Dermstore doesn't sell it anymore unfortunately. But my Sephora bottle is the same color and presumably they don't let product sit on the shelves for too long (maybe? I don't actually know).

Is that why Dermstore can't sell it anymore? Because they were sending out old product?

OP here: I only use one pump for my entire face and neck. OK, so I'm not overusing it compared to others.
