Say Yes to the Mess - I mean Dress

People. No. That show is one of my guilty pleasures as I run on the treadmill, and I saw the entire episode. Here's what you missed:

They told the girl who tried on the blue dress that there was going to be a LINING in the bodice--so no pasty effect. The bodice will be fully lined. I think it was unlined in the sample so that women of different sizes could try it on in the show room, but they definitely pointed out that the bodice will be fully lined for a sweetheart neckline effect on the final version.

Really, people, you need to have more faith in Randy. He knows what he is doing: he would NEVER design a pasty-effect dress.

Sort of like I would never admit to anyone in real life that I watch the show.

I think you’re confusing that dress with the second bride on that episode. She fell in love with an ugly dress ( though nothing like the blue monstrosity), and she and her entourage were concerned about the sheer bodice. They were told the bodice would be lined with a sweetheart neckline. Not the blue dress. That one was pasties all the way. Randy did indeed design a hideous, Disney-inspired getup, complete with a sheer bodice and two blue pasties. I’m so disappointed in him.

+!. I sadly admit to watching the show with DD. Yes, blue pasties. No lining. No discussion about putting some added blue lace in to make it less "pasties".

Yep. That's the one. Can you believe Randy designed this trashy thing?

I was gobsmacked. Literally blown away at that blue atrocity.

Heh. At least it's not strapless!

Ok, so I watched SYTTD last night. Anyone see the episode where the bride was a lovely young woman, but she unfortunately brought Barbara Corcoran (from Shark Tank) in her entourage? OMG, that woman is the most annoying person. She thinks she's so funny and cute, and kept interrupting everything with her opinions. Awful!!!

Another episode had the trashiest New Jersey (think NJ shore) bride. Horrific. Fake tan, huge hair, tons of makeup, bright white teeth, fake boobs, awful voice. Her father apparently dotes on her and was willing to shell out any amount needed for her to have her "perfect" dress. She was so trashy and picked out the most godawful dress in which her cleavage was hanging out - and her parents loved it! I'm amazed at these families. Don't they see what the rest of us see?

As my grandma always said, "That's why there's chocolate and vanilla."

Was she the girl whose father said $7k budget, she considered a $16k dress, Randy pointed out it was double her dad's budget, she blinked and said something like "I don't do math"? Yes, I kept expecting a nip reveal the bodice WAS THAT LOW!

On the other hand, and it may have been a different episode, another bride had on one of Randy's dresses and he has totally redeemed himself in my eyes from the blue pasty horror above. This other dress was less than $3k with lace and tulle, and I thought it looked very pretty.

Anyway, I love SYTTD and I'm glad they have some new episodes on. I admit that I am dreaming of a few years when our girls will be dress shopping!

Yes, that was the same girl. She was hideous. I hated the way she kept bragging about having her dad wrapped around her little finger and all she had to do was cry a little to get him to do anything. Barf.

I'm also getting sick of the way so many things seem to be staged on this show. The conversation Randy had with Ronnie (the owner) regarding how "nervous" he was about his runway show - so rehearsed. Randy is just not a good actor, and neither is Ronnie.

I love the show too, but it used to be SO much better, when they had normal brides and beautiful gowns. Now, it's like they're catering to trashy audiences.

Barbara Corcoran was cringe worthy. UGGGGHHHH.

Oh honey
