This is OP- okay these responses solidified it for me. It’s going to be Marianna. I’m going to work out the spelling but thanks for the feedback!!

I almost did Mariana - i LOVE it. also considered Marianne. Madeline is too popular.

Over all of the Maddies.

Nothing is wrong with Madeleine / Madeline, but I love Marianna.

You will get people trying to pronounce it different ways. I personally think that both pronunciations are gorgeous.

I rather like Marianne, too, which people will tend to pronounce Mary-Ann.

I agree with this sp loving, plus the pronunciation Mareeahna.

Also a beautiful name to consider is Mariela.

Too many Madelines already.

You mean, like "Mary"? Why not just name her Mary then?

Where do you live? My DD is Madeleine and we have only bumped into two Madeleine/Madeline in her life. Have heard more Madisons though. Btw, my DD always go by Madeleine, not Maddy ( she is 20 btw)

Madeline is also dear to my heart but I’m not too crazy about the nickname Maddie.

Thoughts?

Op, just curious as why you are concerned about the nickname Maddie, but not worried about a nickname developing for Marianna, especially once your dd is school. Both names have a good chance of being shortened.
