| Kids are grown and I run my own business. I sleep from 4 AM to noon. Love my life! |
| 4:00. Hello! |
| Ugh when someone demands that I get up (usually a little one who needs the potty) and not a second before. |
| I work from home. I get up at 7:15/ 7:30. I get myself ready, get lunchboxes ready for the kids and wake them up at 8. We have breakfast together then DH walks kids to school and I'm at my chair in my home office by 9. |
This. My older one is up before me sometimes, and gets his own breakfast. I usually need to be up by about 6:45 to get lunches made and everyone out the door. Sometimes the younger one wakes me, sometimes I wake her. Dh is usually long gone by the time we get up - he typically wakes at 5am and leaves by 6. Your dh sounds like a bit of an ass, op. |
|
I wake up at 8 pm. DH wakes up and makes breakfast and lunch for the kids and drops them at school.

I'm up when the baby wakes up (typically a bit after 6), or if she is randomly sleeping in I get up at 6:30. I prefer to be dressed and have had coffee before my preschooler is up at 7. I really need that moment of calm.
I'm trying to give your husband the benefit of the doubt - is he suggesting that you would feel calmer/more on top of things if you woke up earlier? Or is he jealous because he needs to be up very early and resents that you get more sleep? |
| Who cares when other people wake up? This is about your husband not respecting you. |
+one million. I'd get a job and then a divorce. |
|
I get up at 5:00 because I have to work out before I get my daughter up at 7:00 and then go to work.
But if I didn't have to get up at 5:00, I wouldn't. 7:00 seems completely reasonable to me. When we had the snow delay yesterday, I got up at 7:00. I think your husband is jealous that he has to go to the office and you don't. |
We don't know the full story. Maybe her husband is exhausted from getting up at 5 am everyday and really resents the extra sleep she gets. I'm not saying he's right, just that grounds for a divorce seems a bit dramatic. |
| Generally, 6ish, plus or minus 30 minutes. |
|
Weekdays - 6:15 and get the kids up at 6:30. Out the door at 7:05 to drop off kids and get to works (kids are 11y and 12y.)
Weekends - Whenever I wake up. Typically sometime between 7 and 8. Kids are old enough to wake/watch tv/get breakfast on their own. Before they were old enough to do this, I was up with them - typically 5:30-6:30. So I relish being able to sleep in on the weekends after several years of being up early. |
| Anytime between 6:30-8:30. My oldest gets herself ready in the morning and my youngest doesn't leave until 9. |
| 6:30-7 is my normal wake up time. He wakes up around 7:15. Kids get up around 7-7:15. |
