Slovenia is a wonderful country. I had the pleasure of spending another year living in Trieste, an Italian city a few miles from Slovenia. My friends and I drove by Melania's house from childhood once afternoon for fun, and I have spent tons of time in Slovenia. It is a well-running, manicured, beautiful country, and her childhood home is bigger than yours.

I am sorry for the snark you got for mentioning traveling in Slovenia. Slovenia and the other Balkan countries are now very popular tourist destinations. Slovenia is one of the better ones as it basically avoided the 90s Balkan War and is European Union. As for Melania, it probably wasn’t too great when Slovenia was part of the former Yugoslavia. I’m sure you have lots of great memories and experiences from your travels. Trieste is an interesting city.

If anyone cares about an opinion of someone who actually grew up in Eastern Europe... Slovenia rocks for expats with American income. Like most countries of the world. The life expats live overseas does not entitle you to knowing what it's like to go tribal in Slovenia. So do us all a favor, STFU.

Angela Merkel's accomplishments are hers alone and not something that some man can take from her by filing a divorce petition.
