Bob Marshall's sister, actress Paula Marshall, wrote: "That was my brother who lost his seat in the House of Delegates race in Va. He wouldn't debate her, he wouldn't call her "her" or "she". Maybe if he weren't so judgmental and homophobic, he could have lost with dignity. I'm not happy my brother lost his job, but all I can say is, karma brother."
If only Trump's family had an ounce of courage to call awful family members out. They are cowards. |
| So fitting that Danica Roem beat Virginia's chief homophobe Bob Marshall. Love wins! |
Well that’s gonna be awkward at Thanksgiving! |
When your own family doesn't support you, you know you've got troubles. So glad to see regular citizens engaging. Marshall was a 13 term incumbent in his 70s--he should have been gone long ago. |

Who would ever vote for the NRA gun guy V the guy whose significant other was shot on live TV? Especially after TX church and Vegas just happening.
Except in CA who if anyone is left enough to not want MS 13ers locked up and deported? What's your point? Opposing deportation for law abiding residents is not the equivalent of welcoming MS-13 as one's neighbors. Appears that a majority of VA voters made that distinction. |
The current governor of Louisiana is a Democrat - John Bel Edwards. Elected in November 2015. He beat US Senator David Vitter (R), 56% to 44%. |
Trolls gotta troll. |

You know what IMO the most important stat out of last night was? In 2013 Democrats challenged like 23 seats in the state legislature that were held by Republicans. Last night they were challenging 54.
That shows grassroots democratic passion, there are SO many new people running for office. Not something that will be super evident on the national stage but it is a fantastic sign for the next few years. 538 had an article awhile back that talked about the VERY strong correlation between new candidates of a party running and taking over seats in congress. Democrats have like more than 200 new candidates raising money, Republicans less than 30. Trump is causing Republicans to start retiring but he isn't sparking a passionate group of new politicians running for office...at least not for Republican office. |
Lol. Sick |
Yup, just heard an interview with the mayor of Richmond. He said there were 41 first-time candidates on the House of Delegates ballots. And, that the current status of the House is 50-50 with one district in Newport News that is outstanding. That's the one mentioned either here or on another thread where the candidates are only separated by 12 votes. |
And in the rest of the state...absentee and provisional ballots are leaning D. |
